Well, clearly I didn't enter the Gloves this month. We found out the ONLY other 132 girl had a lot of experience and it just would not have been a smart fight for me to take. It's okay. I'm honestly not upset. I wouldn't have wanted to get in there and gotten my ass kicked so badly that I'd want to quit.
Haven't let up on the training (except that I've been doing the smart thing and taking a day or two off in the week) and I have the date for my first fight. It's actually gonna happen.
March 5. (And then the show my gym is putting on in April.)
I have until then to get down to 132 and I can do it. Going to start eating much cleaner as of next week. I also feel like I'm getting better in the ring. As Jaime says, I have all the pieces I just have to work on putting them together. She has a new class Monday nights that I do after my session with her. An instructional sparring class and it's been insanely helpful. I also love working with girls of all experience levels. So much fun!
So this is just a quick little blog to prove I didn't die (thank you, Catastrophe for reminding me to blog). Tonight and tomorrow I'm taking off from working out because I can't even describe to you how exhausted I am. Saturday I'm working with Lynds and then sparring with a girl who is going to the Gloves in Lowell. And then Sunday is boxing class and more sparring (that I will not miss this week!).
Oh, and Zach and Marcin are kicking ass and taking names at the Gloves so far. It does make me a little sad that I'm not competing. Oh well, there will be more.
